After discussing the birth of artistic poster design by Jules Cheret, Toulouse-Lautrec, and Alphonse Mucha to mid-century movements of Art Deco, Swiss Style, and Pop Art, students learned the evolution of print-processes and purposes for artistic, educational, and promotional posters. For this assignment, students designed an art-inspired travel poster for a place (real or imaginary) that they have either traveled to or would like to travel to. Using Illustrator, students showed their understanding of creating vector graphics, using appropriate typography, and applying color schemes to advertise their location.
